Studio Weil as a space for artistic production and exhibition, was built by the artist Barbara Weil (Chicago 1933 – Puerto de Andratx 2018). The building has different exhibition and work spaces around two diaphanous floors, as well as exterior areas. Studio Weil was originally created to host the work of Barbara Weil, and now in the wake of her passing and following her final wishes will become a center where other artists can share in her legacy.

It was Barbara’s sincere desire that Studio Weil become a beacon of culture for the island of Mallorca and the world. Creating two non profit entities, Asociación Cultural Barbara Weil based in Spain and Weil Art Exchange based in New York, Barbara’s children have initiated this promise.

Opening the door to Studio Weil these two groups forge an alliance to promote activities among interdisciplinary artists.  Mallorca, with its international community and wealth of cultural resources is an ideal location to manifest this initiative.  Owing to the production of jazz concerts  since the very beginning, Studio Weil has been a main stage for many concerts which have been performed on the terrace in a highly intimate setting.  Under this new direction, musical and theatrical productions will accompany evolving exhibitions in plastic arts and photography in addition to artist residencies.
